«مَا لْهَا إِلَّا رْجَالْهَا»

The saying holds that every hard or knotted affair has its proper handlers, and only they can set it right. Effort, goodwill, or authority alone will not untangle the matter; it needs people with the competence and familiarity to carry it through.

In practice it often greets the arrival of a capable person who takes charge of a confused situation and fixes it. It thus doubles as a compliment, recognizing that someone has proven equal to the task that defeated others.

Say it when a muddled or difficult affair has stalled and someone with real know-how steps in or is called for. It can praise the person who resolves things, or argue that amateurs should step aside and let the experienced take over.
